BARRY AMBROSE

Barry Ambrose, a native of northeastern North Carolina, began playing the piano at age 3 when his father put numbers below the notes on the music and then wrote the numbers on the piano keys.  He began his classical training in junior high school with Dr. Anna Baer and more recently studied with Dr. Rachel Gragson.  He received his BFA in Theater Arts from East Carolina University.  He played the piano at Kitty Hawk Methodist Church for over 20 years, has played in numerous concerts and accompanied a number of local recitalists.  His greatest honor was being asked to perform a concert of piano duets with his teacher for the Don and Catharine Bryan Cultural Series.
